Advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery

At Chaseview we are very proud to have a team with a vast array of surgical skills. We are pleased to be able to offer our clients the choice to have advanced surgical procedures done at our practice. Many of these procedures are not done in first opinion general practice and need to be referred to specialist practices often quite some distance away. This allows our clients to make the choice to have these surgeries done close to home and in familiar surroundings or go further a field if they wish. Some examples of orthopaedic procedures we can offer are:

TTAr repair of cruciate rupture in dogs.

This is a repair of a cat with a pelvic fracture, her pelvis detached from her spine and was reattached using a surgical screw

This is a repair of a condition called medial patella luxation, or slipping patella, in a chihuahua. This type of repair is called a tibial crest transposition where part of the tibia is cut and then relocated in a position to stop the patella slipping.

Some examples of soft tissue surgery are

• Laryngeal tie back to treat laryngeal paralysis in dogs
• Airway surgery in dogs which have Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome for example widening of nostrils and soft palate resections
• PDA surgery (heart surgery)
• Ocular surgery such as conjunctival pedicle grafts, pocketing of third eyelid gland prolapses, entropion
• Thyroidectomy in cats
